Arab American Union Members Council Mission

The Arab American Union Members Council (AAUMC) is dedicated to the empowerment of our community and advocating for the protection of their civil and human rights. Through grassroots networking with similar sister labor and community organizations, ‘Know Your Rights’ education seminars and public outreach, by providing the support to all working families in our communities, we work to advance social justice and bridge the gap between Arab American working families and our fellow sister and brothers in all the diverse immigrant communities and U.S. society at large.

AAUMC is inspired by other immigrant American civil rights struggles, most notably the farm worker struggle in California led by Cesar Chavez whom we consider a brother and mentor for our late and beloved Arab American labor leader Naji Daifullah, who died during the historic movement in August of 1973.

Naji and Cesar’s determination, sacrifice and courage guides our own wish to build a just future for our families.

Since September 11, 2001 members of AAUMC through all sectors, teachers, nurses, service workers, restaurant workers, bus and taxi drivers, have worked with and appreciate the continuous support of sister organizations, who shares our concerns ,We look forward to working with them in the future in our pursuit of justice for all in America.
